AGH UST listed in the new Times Higher Education New Europe Ranking


The AGH University of Science and Technology was ranked second best Polish technical university and fourth among all Polish universities and colleges rated in the new Times Higher Education (THE) – New Europe ranking. The list includes universities from the countries that have joined the EU since 2004.

The ranking includes 53 universities and colleges (including 12 Polish ones) from Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia.

Ranking of Polish universities: 

1. University of Warsaw (6th place in the general ranking)
2. Jagiellonian University (13th place in the general ranking)
3. Warsaw University of Technology (16th place in the general ranking)
4. AGH University of Science and Technology (22nd place in the general ranking)
5. University of Wrocław (26th place in the general ranking)
6. Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (the 31-40 range in the general ranking)
7. Gdańsk University of Technology (the 31-40 range in the general ranking)
8. Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (the 31-40 range in the general ranking)
9. University of Silesia ( the 41+ range in the general ranking)
10. University of Gdańsk (the 41+ range in the general ranking)
11. University of Łódź (the 41+ range in the general ranking)
12. Łódź University of Technology (the 41+ range in the general ranking)

Estonia’s Tartu University came top of the ranking, with second and third best universities being the Cyprus-based Cyprus University of Technology and the University of Cyprus.

Ranking Times HigherEducation is one of the world’s most important educational rankings, alongside the QS World University Ranking, the Shanghai ranking and U-Multirank. The authors of the THE New Europe Rating used the same indicators as for the global ranking, that is: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and knowledge transfer.
