Accessibility Knowledge Centre in the works

The AGH University of Krakow begins work on the AGH University Accessibility Knowledge Centre, an interdisciplinary platform combining knowledge from various fields: engineering, assistive technologies, sociology, and adult education. The aim of the project is to develop innovative solutions increasing accessibility and promote universal design. The kick-off meeting of the project team was held on 12 November.

The project involves the establishment of:

  • LivingLab technology park,
  • guidebooks on improving accessibility
  • information and consultation point supporting the transfer of knowledge
  • research on technologies for persons with disabilities.

The project is carried out by the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering, and the Accessibility Department in cooperation with INNOAGH.

  • local project coordinators: Wojciech Sajdak (Accessibility Department), Dr Weronika Teresa Adrian (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering), Dr Dorota Żuchowska-Skiba (Faculty of Humanities) and Beata Seweryn (INNOAGH).

The project will be implemented until August 2028 and funded by the National Centre for Research and Development under the programme European Funds for Social Development for 2021-2027 (project value: PLN 4,491,153.87, of which PLN 4,348,567.57 comes from the National Centre for Research and Development).
