An American-French leader in IP system technology for the design of the most complex integrated circuits, Arteris, has opened a new location. The engineering hub will be located in a historic building owned by the AGH University.
The cooperation between the university and company will be coordinated by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering, more specifically by the Department of Measurement and Electronics. For years, the unit has specialised in designing integrated circuits for various fields, such as high energy physics, X-ray imaging and neurobiology. Thus far, the achievements of the AGH University employees have allowed to cooperate with multiple companies specialising in the design of integrated circuits, IP blocks for integrated circuits and their use in various applications.
Arteris will support the AGH University students and staff by providing software for education and designing integrated circuits. As part of this cooperation, the academic community will have the opportunity to participate in innovative technology projects that contribute to the development of the electronic equipment industry.
When addressing all gathered at the event, Professor Marek Gorgoń, AGH University Vice-Rector for Science, said:
“Owing to high quality of education in designing integrated circuits, the graduates of our university will become a solid support for Arteris. Their skills and knowledge will be indispensable for the development of innovative technological solutions."
At the official opening of the hub, Adam Morawiec, senior director and general manager of Arteris Poland, explained:
“As the complexity of semiconductor design and development continues to accelerate, the need for highly skilled engineers is critical to support our customers and our future product innovations. Krakow is one of Europe’s most vibrant technology ecosystems with expertly trained engineers and we are excited to offer new career opportunities and contribute to the local tech community.”
Currently, Arteris has more than 200 clients all over the world, and its employees work in 11 countries. The opening of a hub in Poland will enable the development of the company in the region, offering new employment opportunities for engineers.
