Delta at CoreComm Solar Boat Challenge 2026

The competition began with a technical inspection, which Delta passed without any issues. The team then took part in the opening ceremony, where they had the opportunity to meet their competitors from across Europe.

The first day of the Challenge featured two events. In the Slalom, Delta demonstrated impressive precision while navigating between the buoys, clocking a best time of 0:47 and securing third place among 10 competing teams. 

The second event, the Time Trial, challenged teams to cover a 43-kilometre course within a set time limit (4.5 hours). Conditions proved exceptionally demanding, with strong winds allowing only two teams to reach the finish line. Despite the adverse weather, Delta covered 31 km and set a new speed record of 38 km/h, highlighting the enormous potential of its propulsion system.

The following day saw the Ton’s Race, in which participants had to cover the greatest possible distance between designated buoys within a time limit. Delta completed 20.2 km, placing eight in the event.

The final day of the competition brought the greatest technical challenge, as the team encountered issues with the powertrain. Despite these difficulties, Delta successfully entered the final two events. In the Endurance race, the boat completed 10 laps in 2:45:14, finishing in fourth place. It then went on to finish fifth in the Match Race.

Delta ultimately concluded the competition in sixth place overall.
