In the latest edition of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR ed. 2022), three AGH journals have received a Journal Impact Factor (JIF). It is the first calculation of this kind for titles published by the AGH University.

The Journal Impact Factor is of great importance both for the evaluated journals and for the authors of publications featured in these journals. It is calculated by dividing the number of article citations for a given year by the number of articles published in the previous two years.
For a long time, the aforementioned journals have been present on the ISI Master Journal List, which includes journals indexed in the global Web of Science database.
It is worth noting that in this edition of the Journal Citation Reports, the JIF has been reduced from three decimal places to one. Having the same JIF value for multiple journals within a shared category is intended to draw attention to other indicators and descriptive data in the JCR when comparing titles.
