Lead the tech – Like never before! AGH University launches an MBA programme

The new academic year will mark the launch of a new Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programme that is predominantly designed for companies’ managers, entrepreneurs, and administration directors.

The decision to launch the first such degree programme at the AGH University was made, above all, on the basis of a thorough analysis of the market and the signals coming from the broad business circles gathered around our university. The impressive professional careers of our graduates and the rankings of the most successful and fastest-developing enterprises clearly indicate that our alumni are present in the decision-making bodies in those companies. It was precisely with the thought of the management staff in business, but also in administration, that we decided to expand the offer to include this field of study, which will be a significant and also expected complement of the current degree programme offer at the AGH University‘, said Professor Jerzy Lis, AGH University Rector during the inaugural meeting.

The MBA at the AGH University will focus on education in strategic areas for the development of the Polish economy, considering the technological aspect. As the main objective of the programme, our university spotlights the expansion of the competence of students with the skills and knowledge necessary in business and the dynamic and technology-driven environment.

During the inaugural meeting that launched the MBA TECH programme, invited guests participated in a discussion panel with Professor Jerzy Lis, AGH University Rector; Krzysztof Pawiński, CEO of Maspex and Chairperson of the University Council; Rafał Gajewski, Board Member of CEMEX Polska; Magdalena Rabiej, Engineering Manager at Google in Krakow; and Sławomir Kumka, Executive Director in IBM. The discussion revolved around the key advantages that companies have in increasing employee competence as a result of taking MBA courses. The guests agreed that we are witnessing an accelerated development of the professions of the future related to the use of artificial intelligence, space exploration, and the development of telemedicine, to name a few. These changes should be supported by competent managers who follow the latest trends in business, science, and the job market.

The MBA TECH programme will be coordinated by the Faculty of Management.
