Partnership with microelectronics leader Arteris

The AGH University of Krakow has entered into cooperation with Arteris Poland Sp. z o.o., a global provider of advanced IP solutions in the field of microelectronics. The partnership aims to strengthen research and education in the field of modern semiconductor technologies.

The cooperation will involve:

  • application of advanced system-on-a-chip (SoC) design methods
  • chiplet design and integration
  • provision of IP function blocks and design tools for coherent and non-coherent connection architectures
  • implementation of joint R&D work in the field of designing complex electronic systems, including SoCs, chiplets, and IoT solutions
  • application of artificial intelligence methods in the design of electronic systems.

The planned activities will include:

  • joint preparation and implementation of research and development projects at the national and European levels
  • Arteris’ support in the refinement of curricula for degree programmes in electronics, microelectronics, automation and robotics,
  • provision of access to academic and educational materials, design tools, and technical presentations
  • participation of Arteris experts in lectures, seminars and laboratory sessions held at AGH University
  • support in defining and carrying out diploma theses
  • organisation of themed competitions and initiatives promoting the latest technologies.

On the part of AGH University, the cooperation will be coordinated by Dr Robert Szczygieł, associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering, while at Arteris Poland, the coordinator will be Dr Adam Morawiec.

As highlighted by Professor Rafał Wiśniowski, AGH University Vice-Rector for Cooperation:

“The continuation of our partnership with Arteris reflects our shared vision of educating students by providing them with practical experience in advanced semiconductor design and by closely linking academic research with real-world industrial challenges. Through this partnership, participants gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies while actively helping drive innovation and shape the future of the global semiconductor industry.

The agreement was concluded on 16 April 2026 by Vice-Rector for Cooperation Professor Rafał Wiśniowski and Arteris CEO Karel Charles Janac.

Arteris is an internationally recognised supplier of advanced IP solutions for microelectronics. The company offers design methodologies and IP components that enable the efficient design of interconnects in the most complex integrated circuits, manufactured using 3–5 nm processes. Arteris’ solutions enable increased chip performance, reduced energy consumption and lower costs, supporting the development of systems based on artificial intelligence, machine learning, automotive systems, telecommunications, data centres and space technologies.

Last year, the company opened its new office in Krakow; its engineering hub is located in ‘Sienkiewiczówka’, a historic building that belongs to AGH University.
