The 2026 European Economic Congress was marked by lively debates on the key challenges of today. AGH University experts helped shape the conversation, participating in a range of sessions, from critical raw materials, metallurgy, war and technology, to infrastructure for digitalisation and AI factories. During the congress, AGH University also had the opportunity to establish a partnership to promote trustworthy energy-transition information.
No longer merely research sites, universities and research institutions have become strategic national assets and are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks and intelligence operations, as they play a key role in the global technology and innovation rivalry. New reports, the strategic “Research and Education Security Report” and the technical SOC4Academia Toolbox developed as part of the SOCCER project, show how the growing threats to the academic sector can be turned into tangible actions and systemic solutions.
Can an apartment be transformed into a space station? Is it possible to manage water, energy, and food at home the same way astronauts do aboard the International Space Station? The Faculty of Space Technologies is launching “Space at Home”, an innovative and socially engaging project that proves solutions developed for space can have practical, everyday applications here on Earth.
