The scholarship is addressed at researchers representing any field of knowledge who will not be over the age of 30 in the year of submitting their applications.
The applications are evaluated in terms of the quality and originality of the candidate’s scientific output and the most significant research achievement.
In the previous edition, the scholarship amounted to PLN 30,000. The stipend may be used for any purpose. In the upcoming competition, the Foundation for Polish Science will award approximately 100 annual scholarships.
The START Programme also offers financial support covering travel expenses to a research centre abroad selected by the candidate. There are also individual scholarships with a distinction.
The results will be announced in the second quarter of 2026.
Note: As per the regulations of the START programme, you may be a laureate of the scholarship only once.
