Chess players from the Academic Sports Association at the AGH University won the third place in the general classification at the Polish Academic Championships in chess. This is the first medal of our chess players in the 2023/2024 season.
Bronze medals in team tournament went to our team including: Kamil Dzida, Witold Klepek, Jan Golenia, Wojciech Golenia, Tomasz Musiał, Arkadiusz Babiarz, Joanna Furtak, Sara Giefert.
The team tournament winners are players from the Kozminski University in Warsaw, and the second place went to the Opole University of Technology.
In the final of the Polish Academic Championships in chess participated as many as 400 players from 54 universities. The event held on February 23-24 in Lublin was organised by the Academic Sports Association at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin and the Academic Sports Association of the Lublin region.
