On November 29, 2022, the AGH UST hosted a conference dedicated to national security threats in the context of the military conflict in Ukraine.

The meeting was opened and led by Professor Jerzy Lis, AGH UST Rector.

In the first part, the floor belonged to Marcin Ociepa, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence, who delivered a short lecture titled Świat od nowa. Wnioski z rosyjskiej agresji na Ukrainę dla polskiej polityki zagranicznej i obronnej. [The world anew. Conclusions from Russian aggression in Ukraine for Polish foreign and defence policies]. In his presentation, Ociepa pointed to the most important threats related to the ongoing war and listed the implications for the geopolitical situation of the world.

In the second part, the Rector invited Izabela Albrycht, Director of the AGH UST Cybersecurity Centre, and Professor Marek Kisiel-Dorohinicki, Coordinator for University Computerisation, to present a report on the activities of our university that subscribe to the current NATO agenda in the broad area of safety and security.

The meeting ended with a brief discussion and a report presented by Professor Paweł Pichniarczyk, Director of the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Ceramics and Construction Materials, on the institute’s activity in the field of security technologies delivered to the arms industry in Poland.
