Rectors of universities presented a total of 1,068 applications for the minister's scholarship for significant scientific, artistic, or sports achievements for the 2023/2024 academic year. They were evaluated by a panel of experts representing various fields of science and art. The minister's advisory team applied the rule that no more than 18 scholarships are recommended in a given academic discipline. This means that students competed against each other within a given discipline.

Of the 1,048 applications meeting the conditions for receiving a scholarship, the Minister of Science awarded scholarships to 386 students, including: 309 scholarships for scientific achievements, 35 scholarships for sports achievements, 26 scholarships for artistic achievements, 16 scholarships for mixed (scientific and artistic) achievements. In total, in the 2023/2024 academic year, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education will allocate more than PLN 6.5 million for the payment of scholarships.
