Christmas and New Year's wishes from the AGH University Rector

Professor Jerzy Lis, the AGH University Rector, expresses his Christmas and New Year's wishes to the entire academic community.

Dear Employees, Students, Doctoral Students, Retirees, and Alumni!

Dear AGH University community!

Another Christmas is coming, and the beginning of a new year is approaching. Although repeatable, these events are always experienced in an extraordinary way.
They encourage reflection and making resolutions, make us pause in the rush of life and devote time to things beyond daily matters.

As we conclude this year, I would like to sincerely thank all members of our Community for overcoming big and small difficulties together, for working and learning in solidarity, for caring about our Alma Mater.

As we enter this new year, the AGH University has, as per usual, both numerous reasons for satisfaction and the next challenges on the horizon. We can face them properly only as a community – one that stands in solidarity, supports each other, and is sensitive to the needs of all its members.

In a world dominated by divisions, in a depressing time of bloody conflicts, especially those across our eastern border in Ukraine and to the south in Israel and Palestine, let us open ourselves to others, review our beliefs, and seize the opportunities for reconciliation.
Let the AGH University be a true home for those who associate themselves with it – equally for all.

I truly believe that, filled with holiday warmth, we will be ready to return after Christmas with enthusiasm to work even more effectively, together and individually for further success. I wish You that with all my heart.

Each of Your achievements contributes to the development and growth of the entire University. Your talents, ideas, and engagement are the most valuable gifts under our University’s Christmas tree.

Dear All!
When celebrating, resting, and enjoying time with friends and family, let us not forget about those who need our particular care and kindness.
For the sake of the message of the newly born Jesus Christ, for the professed ideals of humanism, which we, as persons of science, hold dear – let us be good to one another.

Healthy, Peaceful, and Merry Christmas!

Happy New Year! May it be prosperous for each and every one of us and for the entire AGH University Family!
May it bring You health, serenity, personal fulfilment, and worthy gratification for Your work.

I sincerely wish that for You!

Professor Jerzy Lis
AGH University Rector
