Agreement on cooperation between AGH University and Surveyor General of Poland

Scientific cooperation, joint participation in research and development projects, and the Surveyor General of Poland’s (GGK) support of the educational process at the Faculty of Geo-Data Science, Geodesy, and Environmental Engineering are the main objectives of the agreement concluded on October 26, 2023 between the AGH University and Alicja Kulka, the Surveyor General of Poland.

The agreement establishes among others:

  • scientific and research cooperation between employees of both parties,
  • joint development of the list of research and theses topics for the AGH University students, particularly from the Faculty of Geo-Data Science, Geodesy, and Environmental Engineering, and of related internships in the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography.
  • possibility for GGK to order geodesy and cartography expert opinions provided by the employees of the Faculty of Geo-Data Science, Geodesy, and Environmental Engineering,
  • initiation and reviewing of changes in the education process of students of the Geodesy, Surveying, and Cartography field of study at the Faculty of Geo-Data Science, Geodesy, and Environmental Engineering.

On behalf of the AGH University the document was signed by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Prof. Rafał Wiśniowski. The cooperation will be coordinated by:

  • on the part of the AGH University: Associate Professor Paweł Hanus from the Faculty of Geo-Data Science, Geodesy, and Environmental Engineering.
  • on the part of GGK: Marcin Grudzień, MSc Eng., Director of the Department of Real Estate, and Anna Bober, MSc Eng., Director of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography.

The Surveyor General of Poland is a central body of government administration performing supervisory and control tasks concerning the bodies of the Geodetic and Cartographic Service. GGK is obliged by law to actively work for the development of science, including seeking modern solutions improving the performance of tasks by subordinate bodies and supporting their implementation.

The activity of the Surveyor General entails legal and practical issues regarding both the bodies of the Geodetic and Cartographic Service as well as the units.
