AGH University Student Campus transforms into Athletes' Village

The AGH University Student Campus has transformed into the Athletes' Village for the 3rd European Games Krakow-Małopolska 2023, which officially begin on 21st June and will last until 2nd July. The village will become home to nearly four thousand athletes, coaches, and staff members of sports teams.

The Athletes' Village was ceremonially opened on 18th June. The symbolic keys were handed over to Robert Korzeniowski, an athlete, racewalker, four-time Olympic champion, three-time world champion, two-time European champion, and former world record holder in race walking.

Under the agreement between the Organising Committee of the Games and the AGH University of Krakow, the university provides athletes with rooms in student halls of residence and guarantees the provision of all accommodation-related services. The Student Campus has created the necessary infrastructure to accommodate the guests, including catering zones, security points, and spaces for cultural and entertainment events.

Throughout the academic year, the largest student housing complex in Poland provides comfortable conditions for studying and living to AGH students, as well as students of other Krakow universities. Residents can reach the university within 10 minutes. During the summer months, the AGH University Student Campus becomes the largest hostel in Krakow.

Over 7,000 athletes from 48 countries will participate in the European Games 2023. The competition will take place in 29 disciplines. For a large number of athletes, the results achieved in the Games will count towards the classification for next year's Olympic Games in Paris.
