AGH University Doctoral School with funds for internationalisation

The activities planned by the Doctoral School within the project will include:

• paying scholarships to the best doctoral students,
• financing internships of international doctoral students,
• financing the arrival of visiting professors,
• organising summer school at the AGH University,
• establishing a collaboration concerning the education of doctoral students with at least two foreign entities.

The Doctoral School applied for PLN 2 million. The funding has been granted for 2024–2026.

Let us remind that the AGH University Doctoral School has obtained funding from the NAWA STER programme for the second time – the amount of PLN 1,980,000 received in 2020 allowed to strengthen its activities in 2021–2023 aimed at, among other things, attracting foreign doctoral students and supervisors, awarding scholarships for doctoral students carrying out projects in international cooperation, or organising internships and trips abroad.

The “STER Programme – Internationalisation of Doctoral Schools” is addressed at Polish universities and research entities which run doctoral schools. The aim of the programme is to support internationalisation of doctoral schools in terms of, among others:

• improving the quality of education in doctoral schools and the quality of scientific research conducted by doctoral students by using international experiences relevant in the field,
• increasing the international mobility of doctoral students,
• developing actions related to internationalisation “at home,”
• long-term international cooperation of doctoral schools,
• attracting foreign doctoral students and supervisors,
• scholarships for foreign and Polish doctoral students who conduct doctoral projects by means of international cooperation.

The NAWA STER 2023 programme will finance 13 universities and two Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences for a total amount of PLN 26 million.
