Inauguration of academic year 2020/2021

On 5th October 2020, the AGH University of Science and Technology will host the opening ceremony of the academic year 2020/2021.  

Due to the pandemic situation, this year the traditional parade of the AGH UST academic community will not take place, and the ceremonial session of the AGH UST Senate will be closed to the public. 

Programme of celebrations 

9.00 am – Inaugural holy mass at St Anna’s Collegiate Church

11.00 am – ceremonial session of the Senate 

• Gaude Mater Polonia performed by the AGH UST Song and Dance Ensemble "Krakus" 
• Speech given by professor Jerzy Lis, AGH UST Rector 
• Matriculation of first-year students 
• Gaudeamus Igitur performed by the AGH UST Song and Dance Ensemble "Krakus" 
• Speech given by a student representative 
• Presentation of awards: the Professor Władysław Takliński Award, the Professor Antoni Rodziewicz-Bielewicz Award, and the Professor Zbigniew Engel Award 
• Inauguration lecture given by Dr Philippe De Brouwer
