We play together! University auctions for the GOCC

Visit to specialistic labs, MetaLove workshops, recording of a podcast, flight with a light aircraft, ski tour – these are some of the activities offered by the AGH University that you can bid for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. The GOCC will play its 32nd final on the last Sunday of January.

Scientific exploration

  • Explore the research capabilities of microscopes from real magnifications (from a few to 2.5 million times) and see the invisible! Spend a day at the International Centre of Electron Microscopy for Materials Science. The visit may be personalised for children, teens, and adults.
The auction will last until February 1st.

  • Do you want to discover the fascinating world of metals engineering and innovative technologies? A day-long visit to the Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science is something just for you! This cryptic name – MetaLove workshops – translates into visiting laboratories, learning about welding techniques, printing your own 3D model, microscopic examinations… and many, many others. The visit may be personalised for children, teens, adults, families, and entire grades.
The auction will last until February 7th.

  • If you are passionate about virtual reality, you can visit EduVRLab, Virtual Reality Laboratory. This is an inter-department research unit at the AGH University Faculty of Humanities concerned with examining and making use of Virtual and Augmented Reality technology's socio-cultural potential. You will learn here about the most advanced equipment solutions in the field of VR/AR as well as various applications of VR. What is more, you will have an hour-long session in a VR headset.
The auction will last until February 4th.

  • Sociology students’ research club offers something for those who are interested in sociology-related topics – you can bid to participate in one of the club’s podcast episodes. A professional recording studio awaits! The podcast will be made available on the club’s streaming channels.
The auction will last until February 5th.

Thrilling activities

  • An hour-long flight over Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska in the company of the Director of the Institute of Electronics, Professor Krzysztof Wincza, will surely be a memorable experience, as you will admire the picturesque trail from 300 metres above the ground, from behind a panoramic window of a light aircraft.
The auction will last until February 3rd.

  • Do you like mountains and skiing? Join the auction for a ski tour with Dr. Eng. Michał Wągrowski – Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics, and Telecommunications and a rescuer of the GOPR mountain rescue group in Podhale. What is more, you will visit duty stations on Dluga Polana and Turbacz, see specialised rescue equipment, and learn about the daily work of mountain rescuers.
