Inauguration of AGH Business School

Finally, after extensive efforts, the AGH Business School has officially been inaugurated. Operating within the structure of the Faculty of Management, the unit has been responsible for coordinating the MBA TECH programme run at the AGH University since last year.

The guests gathered at the event were welcomed by Dr Murat Çolak, AGH University associate professor, Director of the AGH Business School, associated with the Faculty of Management. In his speech, Dr Çolak pointed out the significance of MBAs in education in strategic areas for the development of the economy, taking into account its technological aspect.

As emphasised by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Professor Rafał Dańko:

“the world is changing at an unprecedented speed, driven by technological advancements, globalisation, and the shift of economic paradigms. In such a dynamic environment, education is not only an asset but also a lifesaver. Our MBA programme as well as other projects which will be undertaken at the AGH Business School are aimed at equipping our students with skills, knowledge, and a way of thinking vital to move around this complex world with great success.”

The initiator of the MBA studies, Professor Marek Dudek, Dean of the Faculty of Management, presented the complicated path to extending the university’s education offer, from the emergence of the idea, through the implementation and establishment of the programme, to the inauguration of the AGH Business School.

Present at the event was also Professor Banu Esra Aslanertik from the College of Staten Island – City University of New York who drew attention to the need for sustainable development relevant to the training provided by means of the MBA programme.

Another speaker at the inaugural meeting of the new AGH Business School was a MBA student, Mateusz Marzec, founder of ReliaSol (a spin-off from the AGH University) created in response to the growing need to improve the efficiency of machinery and systems in industry, who stressed how essential specialised education for management truly is.
