Well known among scientists in Poland, OPUS and PRELUDIUM are National Science Centre’s competitions which enable the implementation of basic research in Polish units. OPUS grants allow for the implementation of complex projects lasting several years, the creation of large scientific teams, the use of international research facilities, and cooperation with foreign partners, all this regardless of the scientific career stage at which the project manager is. Whereas, PRELUDIUM is addressed to researchers at a very early stage of their careers, even before their PhD, who want to gain initial experience in research projects lasting up to three years.
