Materials science webinar on SMARTICE topics

Organised by Istituto di Chimica della Materia Condensata e di Tecnologie per l'Energia (ICMATE), this webinar in the series “Materials Matter” will present the fundamental topics of the PRIN project “SMARTICE: Advanced de-icing surfaces based on engineered shape memory alloys”. The event will be held on 18 June 2025 from 3pm to 4.30pm.

ICMATE is part of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), the Italian partner in the EU project NetCastPL4.0, coordinated by Faculty of Faculty of Foundry Engineering at the AGH University of Krakow.

The webinar will feature presentations by:

  • Professor Carlo Antonini, University of Milano-Bicocca
    “Understanding and controlling icing: an interdisciplinary challenge”,
  • Dr Luca Stendardo, ICMATE Lecco
    “Evaluating Ice Adhesion and Exploring Icephobic Properties of Nickel-Titanium”,
  • Jacopo Mazzini, University of Pisa
    “A leaner thermal model for the transient 3D simulations of Shape Memory Alloys”.
