Erasmus+ International Staff Week at AGH University

The third edition of Erasmus+ International Staff Week has come to an end. Last week, the AGH University hosted over 30 university representatives from 15 countries from all over the world. Foreign guests visited our university as part of the Erasmus+ student and employee mobility programme for higher education institutions.

On Monday, the week of international mobility was inaugurated by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Prof. Rafal Wiśniowski. A presentation on the potential of the city of Krakow in terms of international cooperation was given by Wojciech Łaptaś, Deputy Director of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Krakow City Hall. The invited guests then met at a gala dinner at the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology, where Prof. Tadeusz Pająk, Erasmus+ Coordinator at the AGH University, was presented with an award for his long-standing contribution to the development of international cooperation at the AGH University, including the Erasmus+ programme which has been successfully implemented at our University for 25 years. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Tadeusz Pajak has served as the Erasmus+ Coordinator for 18 years.

On Tuesday, teaching staff conducted classes at AGH University faculties according to pre-determined curricula, while representatives of the administration held training sessions at pre-designated AGH University units. Staff Week participants also had the opportunity to visit the laboratories of the Faculty of Drilling, Oil, and Gas and the International Centre of Electron Microscopy for Materials Science at the AGH University.

On Wednesday, representatives of partner universities and invited institutions involved in the support and development of international mobility programmes such as the Erasmus Student Network, Erasmus+ InnHUB, Campus France, and DAAD could present their offer during the Erasmus+ Partner Day.

The event was very popular among AGH University students and employees wishing to learn more about the exhibitors' educational offerings. At the same time, sessions and panel discussions were held on the opportunities for AGH University students and employees to participate in the Erasmus+ programme and other scholarship projects. Representatives of partner universities gave presentations on their institutions' educational offer.

In addition to the activities, participants of the Erasmus+ International Staff Week also had the opportunity to expand their knowledge on capacity-building projects in higher education in partner countries thanks to the training of an expert from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Mirko Varano, and to improve their language skills during the "Writing for Publication" workshop conducted by the Director of the Department of Foreign Languages, Anna Krukiewicz-Gacek.

On the last day, our guests took part in a field trip to the Wieliczka Salt Mine.
At the very end, the foreign guests received certificates of participation in the Erasmus+ International Staff Week.

We would like to thank everyone for participation and invite you to more events organised by the Centre for International Affairs of the AGH University.
