We are responsible. High rate of COVID-19 vaccination at the AGH UST

The Polish Information Processing Centre (OPI) published data related to the vaccination rate against COVID-19 among students, doctoral students, and employees of Polish universities. The results show the admirable responsibility of the AGH UST academic community with respect to vaccination.

The COVID-19 vaccination rate in our university; fully vaccinated individuals:

  • Employees*: 89.1%
  • Doctoral students: 83.4%
  • Students: 78.6%

* academic teachers, other individuals teaching classes or carrying out research

‘I want to thank the entire AGH UST community for such an eager willingness to vaccinate against COVID-19. Thanks to your responsible attitude, we can now safely organise classes on site. Thank you all for your involvement. Because of that, we are one of the most vaccinated groups’, said Professor Jerzy Lis, the AGH UST Rector.

Our university has actively encouraged people to vaccinate, which is an important part of the strategy to combat the pandemic. We opened a vaccination spot on our campus. The pro-vaccination campaign that we launched last summer showed how much the entire AGH UST community cared about the quickest possible return to studying and working on site. Students from the University Board of Student Government, musicians from the AGH UST Representative Orchestra, and athletes from the many AGH UST sports clubs promoted vaccinations and fostered trust in scientific achievements. Additionally, the vaccination campaign featured AGH UST Main Library employees and representatives of academic teachers.

The data used in the analysis came from three sources: the POL-on system (Ministry of Education and Science), the vaccination database (Ministry of Health), and the PESEL system.
