AGH UST with a Microsoft Cloud University title

Our university has joined the leaders who set the standards for digitalisation in the education sector and has received the title ‘Microsoft Cloud University’. The distinction is awarded to innovative higher education institutions that, in their daily activities, use new technologies to face the challenges of the modern world.

The ‘Microsoft Cloud University’ programme was created for higher education leaders who use state-of-the-art technologies in management, teaching, and research. It is intended for academic staff for whom improving digital competence constitutes a responsibility and a mission.

‘Microsoft Cloud University’ distinguishes and assembles universities that set an example in using Microsoft tools and technologies in their scientific, administrative, and research activities. Such universities include those that support their alumni’s professional development and are focused on cooperation between people, spaces, and technologies to better organise educational processes and combine knowledge with social skills and competencies.

The use of digital tools in teaching and managing higher education institutions does not only streamline administrative processes or facilitate remote learning. Predominantly, it brings the academic community the necessary competencies to operate within this new reality. It facilitates the development of an information society in times when the understanding and ability to use technology are equally important as knowing foreign languages, if not more significant. A good command of technology also conditions effective manoeuvring on the future job market.
