The brightest students with ministerial grants

Przemysław Czarnek, the Minister of Education and Science, granted student scholarships for remarkable scientific, artistic, or sports achievements. The laureates included five students from the AGH University.

The grants will go to:

  • Bartosz Głowacki – student of Mathematics at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics
  • Krzysztof Hernik – student of Mathematics at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics
  • Zofia Kucia – student of Materials Science at the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics
  • Wojciech Lubieniecki – student of Automatic Control and Robotics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering
  • Barbara Szaflarska – student of Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science, and Biomedical Engineering.

The grant of PLN 17,000 in one payment is awarded for one academic year.

The Ministry received 1,150 applications from universities in Poland. Of 1,104 of the submissions that met the criteria, the Minister of Education and Science awarded the grants to 414 students (386 for research and artistic achievements and 28 for sports achievements), whose applications had been positively reviewed by an advisory team of 47 members representing various scientific and artistic disciplines.
