Recommendations for the AGH UST community regarding the rationalisation of energy consumption on campus
  • Wear warm clothes because the temperature in university rooms will not provide the expected comfort
  • Do not use local heating sources (electric heaters, radiators, fan heaters, etc.) to heat the rooms
  • During the heating season, reduce airing the rooms to the absolute minimum, apply intense but brief ventilation
  • Do not use air conditioning (both for cooling and heating)
  • Do not bring your old private energy-consuming devices
  • During the work day, make sure to set all devices (computers, printers, etc.) into automatic sleep mode
  • Report all instances of electric equipment malfunction that may result in increased energy consumption
  • Use warm water in public washing facilities and break rooms and turn off local electric water heaters
  • Turn off the lights in the rooms if the natural lighting is sufficient or if you leave the room even for a short time
  • Use local lights instead of the main lighting source, especially if the number of people in a large room is small
  • Turn off all electrical devices after your work day, before leaving for the weekend, and during longer periods of inactivity; disconnect all types of chargers when not used
  • Use electric kettles to boil just enough water to use in one go

Every small action towards saving electricity has spectacular effects on the university scale.
