Meeting with the President of the Polish National Atomic Energy Agency

On May 10, 2023, Prof. Jerzy Lis, AGH University Rector, and Prof. Rafał Wiśniowski, Vice-Rector for Cooperation, met with Andrzej Głowacki, President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA).

The talk revolved around the cooperation between the AGH University and the PAA in areas that include student education, technical guidance, and project evaluation related to the potential of nuclear infrastructure in Poland.

The National Atomic Energy Agency is one of the key institutions involved in the implementation of the Polish nuclear power programme. The main task of the PAA is to ensure the nuclear safety and radiation protection of the country. Their mission entails state supervision over activities that can expose people to ionising radiation, regular assessment of the radiation situation in the country, appropriate actions in case of radiation incidents, cooperation in terms of nuclear safety and radiation protection stemming from treaties, conventions, and international agreements.
