AGH UST ranked one of Poland’s top universities according to “Perspektywy” Ranking


This year’s University Ranking put together by Fundacja Edukacyjna Perspektywy features the AGH University of Science and Technology taking fourth position overall and coming second best among all technical universities.

This year, AGH UST ranked first among technical universities in the following categories: “Scientific potential”, “Teaching conditions”, “Publications” and “Scientific effectiveness”.

Programmes in Mining and Geology* as well as Mechatronics* came top of the Engineering Programmes Rating.

* AGH UST currently offers the programme in Mining and Geology under different names at the following faculties: the Faculty of Mining and Geoengineering, the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection and the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas. The mechatronics programme is provided under the name Mechatronic Engineering by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics.

70 degree programmes have been rated in this year’s Ranking. AGH-UST took one of leading positions in the following categories:

  • Electronics and Telecommunications (Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications),
  • Management and Production Engineering (Faculty of Management),
  • Electrical Engineering (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering),
  • Technical Physics (Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science),
  • Mechanics and Machine Construction (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics),
  • Computer Science (programme delivered jointly by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering and the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications),
  • Materials Engineering ( programme delivered jointly by the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics and the Faculty of Metals Engineering and Industrial Computer Science);


list of programmes in 3rd position:

  • Automatics and Robotics (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering),
  • Power Engineering (Faculty of Energy and Fuels),
  • Land Surveying and Cartography (Faculty of Mining Surveying and Environmental Engineering),
  • Biomedical Engineering  (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering),
  • Chemical Technology (programme delivered jointly by the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics and the Faculty of Energy and Fuels).  


The “Perspektywy” Ranking, published for 21 years, is recognised as Poland’s top university ranking. The Ranking’s Board is chaired by Professor Michał Kleiber, former President of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
