AGH UST best Polish technical university in ranking Nature Index


In the latest ranking Nature Index 2017, presenting the share of scientists and researchers in the most prestigious scientific journals related to the field of natural sciences, the AGH University of Science and Technology is the leader among Polish technical universities, at the same time holding a very high third position among all Polish universities.  

The ranking takes into account the number and value of scientific articles, which were published by the authors of a given institution between 1 January and 31 December 2016 in the most important and the most influential scientific journals dealing with the subject of natural sciences. The list covers publications from 68 journals, and the choice of publications was made by a team of scientists who were not connected with the authors of the ranking – “Nature Research”. Points were awarded both to texts by individual authors, as well as to team publications. The ranking Nature Index 2017 encompassed 500 universities from all over the world, including 48 from Poland.

The ranking is divided into four subject areas: chemistry, Earth and environmental sciences, physical sciences, and life sciences. AGH UST came to the forefront of Polish technical universities in two subject areas:

In the category of the journal group Nature & Science, the AGH University of Science and Technology was also ahead of the other Polish technical universities.
