AGH University volleyball players won in the final of the Academic Championships of Poland

AGH University volleyball players won in the final of the Academic Championships of Poland

Our volleyball players won gold in the final of the Academic Championships of Poland in volleyball.

The team from the AGH University was the front-runner of the competition. They stormed through the group stage, quarter-finals, and semi-finals with flying colours, defeating all their opponents. In the finals, they met with the Academy of Management and Administration in Opole, winning the match 3:0.

The team comprised: Karol Borkowski, Maciej Czyrek, Jakub Dereń, Bartosz Gomułka, Piotr Janusz, Kacper Komar, Jakub Kraut, Marcin Krawiecki, Adam Miniak, Rafał Putkowski, Łukasz Rymarski, Adam Świdroń, Kajetan Tokajuk, and Igor Zawadzki. The team’s coach is Andrzej Kubacki.

One of our players – Karol Borkowski – received the title of MVP (most valuable player).

The Academic Championships of Poland in volleyball took place between May 11 and 14, 2023 in Poznań. The organiser of the competition was the Academic Sports Association of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The competition brought in 32 teams (almost 500 volleyball players) from 26 higher education institutions.
