On March 20, 2023, the AGH University joined the Association des Ingenieurs et Techniciens Polonais en France (SITPF) as an institutional member. The appropriate accession act was signed by Janusz Ptak, vice-president of the association and its honorary member, and Professor Rafał Wiśniowski, AGH University Vice-Rector for Cooperation.

The Association of Polish Engineers and Technicians in France (SITPF) is the oldest Polish-community organisation gathering engineers and technicians and one of the oldest Polish-community organisations altogether. The idea of founding the SITPF was born in 1917.

The following people participated in the meeting that ended with the signing of the agreement: Dr hab. Eng. Katarzyna Major-Gabryś, Associate Professor at the AGH University – Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Foundry Engineering; Dr hab. Eng. Piotr Pacyna, Associate Professor at the AGH University – Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics, and Telecommunications; Dr hab. Eng. Tomasz Bergier – Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Geo-Data Science, Geodesy, and Environmental Engineering; Professor Jan Deja – Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics; Dr Eng. Jerzy Dzieża – Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics; Dr Eng. Małgorzata Żabińska-Rakoczy – Rector’s Proxy for Cooperation with French Universities; Dr Eng. Dominik Kowal – President of the Board of INNOAGH Sp. z o.o. (AGH University SPV); Deputy Director of the AGH University Technology Transfer Centre for Academic Entrepreneurship; and Marta Foryś – Director of the AGH University Centre for International Affairs.

The delegation from France (in addition to the SITPF members) included representatives of entrepreneurs and business institutions: Michel Pillefer, Vice-President of CCI Loir-et-Cher, and the representatives of the largest federation of employers in France, the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF).

On March 21, 2023, the French delegation, together with the AGH University representatives, participated in a meeting at the Krakow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This was an excellent opportunity to discuss scientific and business joint projects and talk with representatives of entrepreneurs from the region.
