On 2-13 November 2018, the representatives of the AGH University of Science and Technology visited Vietnam, where they participated in a number of meetings with AGH UST’s key partners and the graduates of our university.

The delegation, headed by professor Tadeusz Słomka, AGH UST Rector, was composed of Professor Andrzej R. Pach, AGH UST Vice-Rector for Science, professor Wojciech Łużny, AGH UST Vice-Rector for Education, professor Piotr Czaja, President of the AGH UST Alumni Association, and Marta Foryś, Head of the AGH UST Department of International Relations.

The representatives of our university visited Hanoi University of Mining and Geology, as well as the Vietnamese coal mining corporation – VINACOMIN. They also took part in a meeting with Wojciech Gerwel, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland. During a large number of talks, seminars and presentations, the delegates discussed the plans and new fields of collaboration between AGH UST and Vietnam. In the south of Vietnam, they also paid a visit to the partner school Binh Duong University, where they signed a subsequent collaboration agreement.

Our delegates also visited a Polish-Vietnamese secondary school. On this occasion, the school received patronage of the AGH University of Science and Technology. In March 2019, it is planned to organise an “AGH UST Week”, which will promote Poland and our university in the school.

Particularly unique and touching moments were the meetings with AGH UST graduates in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which featured a ceremony of matriculation after 50 years, and the presentation of about 60 student golden gradebooks.
