AGH UST has entered into cooperation with +GF+ Automotive

On 10 November 2017, during the International Conference of Casting and Materials Engineering which accompanied this year’s  Foundryman’s Day, AGH UST signed an agreement with the Swiss group +GF+ Automotive AG – a leading company operating within the automotive sector. 

The agreement was signed by professor Jerzy Lis – Vice-Rector for Cooperation acting on behalf of AGH UST, whereas the Swiss partner was represented by Joerg Hannsen, who is the Company’s CEO in charge of innovations, development and human resources.

The agreement seeks to establish cooperation in the scope of research activity, traineeships and exchange of experience in science management with special emphasis on competence development. The expected outcomes of the cooperation include also organisation and participation in training courses and workshops, creating a team of experts for developing strategic technical and organisational solutions as well as delivering joint seminars and presentations.

+GF+ Automotive is one of the world’s top suppliers of lightweight thin-walled and structural cast components made from ferrous and non-ferrous alloys for the automotive industry. With its 11 manufacturing sites across Europe, the company casts over 100 million pieces to the total value of nearly EUR 1.2b. The majority of production is addressed to the passenger car sector (approximately 60% of the total output), while further 25% of the manufactured casts is destined for utility vehicles and trucks and the remaining 15% - for the machine industry.
