Professor Antoni Tajduś awarded degree honoris causa of Pedagogical University of Krakow

We are pleased to inform that on 11 May, 2017, professor Antoni Tajduś was awarded a degree honoris causa of the Pedagogical University of Krakow. 

The Senate of the Pedagogical University took the decision upon the motion of the Board of the Faculty of Biology and Geography in recognition of the professor’s scientific output and contribution, as well as his research, and educational and organisational achievements. 

“We are gathered here today around one of the most outstanding experts in the field of geoengineering, including geomechanics and geotechnics,” said professor Wiesław Banyś during the ceremony. “The honorary doctor is a great organiser and leader of many scientific institutions important for the Polish science (…), an educator and master for many generations of scientists and researchers, and a person enjoying never-ending recognition and a great respect of mining and engineering geology environments in Poland and all around the world.”  

For many years, professor Antoni Tajduś has been an advocate and implementer of scientific research collaboration between the academic communities of the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Pedagogical University. His scientific and social activity is of great educational value, and it has a positive influence on the development of the successive generations of young people.
