Liquid State Multiphysics Harvesting: Sustainable Electric Energy From Waste Heat – online seminar


The AGH UST Academic Center for Materials and Nanotechnology invites to a virtual seminar in the series “Krakow Condensed Matter Seminar” which will be held on 21st April 2021, at 9.00 am.

A lecture entitled “Liquid State Multiphysics Harvesting: Sustainable Electric Energy From Waste Heat” will be presented by Professor Alessandro Chiolerio (Center for Sustainable Future Technologies, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Torino, Italy).

Abstract

Energy consumption level shows a never-ending increase since the industrial era. Towards sustainability objectives, it is of outstanding importance to reduce the amount of wasted energy, that typically comes as waste heat, as a consequence of non-unitary efficiency of any thermodynamic process. Here a breakthrough in conversion of low enthalpy heat into electricity thanks to a liquid state multiphysics effect-enabled converter is shown and its impact on society analysed.
