AGH UST in QS ranking by Subject


The Quacquarelli Symmonds World University Rankings (QS) published a ranking by subject, which assessed nearly 4,500 universities. 

The published ranking is divided into two parts: the main subject areas, which further cover several dozen disciplines (subjects / fields of study). 

In the rankings by subject area, AGH UST was placed in the following rank brackets: 

  • Engineering and Technology (rank range: 401-450) 
  • Natural Sciences (rank range: 401-450) 


In the rankings by subject (field of study), our university was ranked as follows:  

  • Computer Science (rank range: 451-500) 
  • Electrical & Electronic Engineering (rank range: 351-400) 
  • Physics and Astronomy (rank range: 401-450) 


It is worth noting that AGH UST, as the only Polish university, was classified in the ranking by the subject of Mineral & Mining Engineering, and rated number 33. 

The Quacquarelli Symmonds World University Rankings is one of four most prestigious educational rankings in the world, alongside Times Higher Education, Shanghai Ranking, and U-Multirank. It is prepared by Quacquarelli Symonds, a company that is an international expert in the field of higher education. The criteria taken into account in the assessment of universities are, inter alia, academic reputation, research impact, and citations per paper. 

The authors of the QS World University Rankings by Subject assessed nearly 4,500 schools of higher education from all over the world, of which over 3,000 qualified for the ranking. The rankings by subject (field of study) encompassed 1,117 educational institutions.
