Seminar: Molecular Layer Deposition of Inorganic-Organic Hybrid Materials

The AGH UST Academic Centre for Materials and Nanotechnology invites you to participate in this semester’s first ACMiN Seminar, which will take place on October 14, 2021, at 14:00 in hybrid form: on site and on the Microsoft Teams platform.

The lecture titled “Molecular Layer Deposition of Inorganic-Organic Hybrid Materials” will be given by Doctor Dirk Hagen (IHP, Frankfurt (Oder), Germany), who will join us online.

Molecular layer deposition (MLD) is an extension of atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of organic polymeric films. The MLD of coordination polymers, thus hybrid inorganic-organic materials, in which metal cations are connected by organic anions, has obtained considerable attention in recent years as this group of materials offers a wide adjustability of physical properties and has therefore found applications in a variety of fields including batteries, phosphors and thermoelectrics. Furthermore, MLD and ALD processes can be combined for the fabrication of superlattices. In this talk, I will give an introduction to the MLD of hybrids highlighting the similarities and differences to classical ALD processes and the requirements on precursor chemistry.

We invite all participants to join us on site in the D-16 building (30 Kawiory Street) in auditorium 1.02A on the first floor, or use this link to participate online.
