On the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the AGH University of Science and Technology, we would like to invite everyone to join us for the exceptional concert performed jointly by AGH UST University Orchestra, AGH UST Con Fuoco Choir and String Orchestra and AGH Krakus Folk Dance and Song Ensemble. The music event called ‘Razem dla dzieci 100 lat AGH’ (For Kids – Together: 100 years of AGH UST09) will be held in STUDIO Club (Budryka 4) on 7 February 2019 at 18.00.

The event’s programme will feature all the famous and beloved hits. Also, in order to celebrate AGH UST’s Anniversary in a not-so-obvious manner, the artists are working on several vocal and instrumental surprises. Those who will turn up at the concert are in for an evening full of unforgettable impressions.

The event is organised jointly by the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Novmar Company. The proceeds of this charitable concert will be donated to children who are residents of orphanages located at Rajska Street in Kraków and in Żmiąca – a country village next to Limanowa. The tickets (sold at PLN 30.00  for the staff and PLN 20.00 for students) will be available beginning January 2019 from AGH UST’s Department of Welfare (details to be announced at the beginning of the new year).

The AGH Krakus Folk Dance and Song Ensemble is Poland’s oldest student folk band. Its beginnings date back to 1949. Since that time the band has been affiliated with the AGH University of Science and Technology. It has played over several thousand concerts both in Poland and abroad. In the course of over 200 concert tours the Band visited the majority of European countries, it also performed in Asia, Africa and in both Americas. With a number of prizes and awards won at national and international festivals, Krakus is all about Polish folklore adapted artistically for stage performances. The Band performs songs, dances and melodies from 10 regions of Poland.

AGH UST University Orchestra was established in 2001. Its full sound palette includes a wide range of instruments, like flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, French horn, oboe, bassoon, tuba, percussions and guitar. The band’s line-up changes regularly with new members joining and many graduates, despite finishing the course of study, continuing their music adventures with ORAGH. The musicians perform to various audiences during all major AGH UST academic celebrations, concerts held in local student clubs and various kinds of events in and outside Krakow. The orchestra, conducted by Karol Pyka, plays popular music, movie tracks, marches as well as great Polish hits in new versions.

AGH UST Con Fuoco Choir and String Orchestra has been performing since 2009. Today, the group numbers nearly 50 students and graduates of Cracow-based universities and colleges. Each year, the musicians give a number of concerts, representing AGH UST at domestic and international concerts, contests and festivals. The choir, conducted by Diana Mrugała-Gromek, covers a very wide repertoire: from medieval psalms, through classical pieces of the Renaissance and the Baroque to avant-garde versions of contemporary music. Notwithstanding the fact that Con Fuoco is the youngest of all Cracow’s academic choirs, it has already garnered a lot of attention and praise both in Poland and abroad.
