ESNOLYMPICS – sports championships of Erasmus+ scholarship holders

In spring 2017, there will take place the sports championships of Erasmus+ scholarship holders – ESNOLYMPICS. The championships will be competed in by international students based in Poland, who in this way will popularise intercultural integration, positive competition, and a healthy lifestyle. The place of the national final will be Krakow and the AGH UST sports facilities.

In March, 2017, twelve Polish cities will host the regional heats in basketball, volleyball and futsal (a variant of association football played indoors). Matches played in each ball game will let the teams win a certain number of points awarded for a particular place, which will then be reflected by their position in the general standings. Afterwards, the winning teams from each region will arrive to Krakow, and between 20th and 24th April, 2017, they will compete to win a chance to take part in the International Erasmus Games, i.e. an international stage of the tournament, which will take place in Porto on 19-21 May, 2017.

The timetables of the regional games and the national final will be made available on the event website. Admission to the matches will be free of charge.

ESNOLYMPICS is organised by the university student organisation AGH UST Erasmus Student Network and the association Erasmus Student Network Poland. The project integrates the students who participate in the programme Erasmus+ as well as the students of Polish universities, and is also embedded in the idea of the programme Erasmus+ Sport. The event will be held under the auspices of professor Tadeusz Słomka, AGH UST Rector.
