The formal inauguration of the 104th academic year will take place on October 4, 2022 at the AGH University of Science and Technology.

All attendees are welcome to participate in a holy mass at 8:30 at St. Anna’s Collegiate Church. Subsequently, at 10:30, the university authorities, Senate members, employees, and students will start a procession at the B-8 building on the AGH UST Campus. The official parade will end in the Main Building (A-0). There, at 11:00, in the Assembly Hall, the main inaugural ceremony will take place.

  • Gaude Mater Polonia performed by the AGH UST Song and Dance Ensemble “Krakus”
  • Speech given by Professor Jerzy Lis, the AGH UST Rector
  • Matriculation of first-year students
  • Gaudeamus igitur performed by the AGH UST Song and Dance Ensemble “Krakus”
  • Speech given by a student representative
  • Presentation of awards
  • Inaugural lecture given by Professor Tadeusz Słomka about Professor Walery Goetel as the precursor of sustainable development

This year, the inauguration of the academic year will be accompanied by one more event – the launch of the Athena supercomputer.
