On May 24, 2022 at the JU Auditorium Maximum (33 Krupnicza Street), the I ECO Congress will take place. The event will focus on the challenges related to the impending climatic and economic crisis. The organiser of the congress is the Jagiellonian University, and its co-organisers are the AGH UST and the Swiss Embassy in Poland.
The objective of the congress is to create a platform shared by the city, the worlds of science and business, and society for common actions in favour of the climate. Participants will discuss, among other things, how new technologies and innovation can change the world for the better, how to promote eco-friendly solutions, and how to change our own habits and make better decisions every day.
The event will include workshops, and multifarious companies, start-ups, scientists, and centres for transfer of technology will present their most recent ecological solutions.
The I ECO Congress in Krakow will be opened by: Professor Jacek Popiel, JU Rector, Professor Jerzy Lis, AGH UST Rector, and Jürg Burri, Swiss Ambassador in Poland.
A number of scientists from the AGH UST will be involved in the event. Piotr Szatkowski, DSc, from the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Ceramics, will talk about plastics. Jakub Bartyzel, DSc, from the Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science, will give a presentation in the panel on the air.
