AGH UST Concert Band (ORAGH) won first place in the Concert Competition at the 2019 World Association of Marching Show Bands World Championships held in Calgary, Canada. The win has been the greatest success in the band’s history so far. It should be noted that ORAGH is the only Polish marching band to have ever taken part in the championships.

The Championships saw several brass bands coming from all over the world. With a score of 93.92 points our band’s performance received very high praise from the international jury.

ORAGH secured its start at the championships after their last year’s performance during the 2018 AlteKameraden International Brass and Marching Show Bands Festival held in Gorzów Wielkopolski. The top award won in the concert performance category opened the door to this year’s WAMSB Championships.

The World Association of Marching Show Bands (WAMBS) Championships were held in Canada from 4 to 8 July 2019. The most important part of the whole event was the vivid ‘Calgary Stampede Parade’ watched by hundreds of thousands of spectators.

During the stay in Canada, AGH UST Concert Band played a concert at the Polish House for the Polish community living in Canada.
