AGH UST has maintained its place in QS World University Rankings


The latest edition of the QS World University Rankings 2020 – one of the most important university rankings in the world – features the AGH University of Science and Technology remaining Poland’s second best technology university and fifth best Polish university overall.

16 Polish universities , two more than in the previous edition, have been rated in the top 1000.

  • Warsaw University of Technology ( band 521-530 overall)
  • Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • AGH University of Science and Technology  ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • Cracow University of Technology (band  801-1000 overall)
  • Gdansk University of Technology ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • Lodz University of Technology ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • Nicolaus Copernicus University, Toruń ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • Poznan University of Technology ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • University of Gdansk ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • University of Lodz ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • University of Silesia ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • University of Wroclaw ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) ( band 801-1000 overall)
  • Wroclaw University of Technology ( band 801-1000 overall)


QS WUR is one of the world’s four most important university rankings, alongside Times Higher Education, Shanghai Ranking and U-Multirank. It is based on a range of indicators, including: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty and internationalisation. The ranking is developed by  Quacquarelli Symonds – a company specialising in higher education and international university programmes.

This year’s ranking considered over 1600 colleges and universities from all over the world,  with 1001 making it to the final list. The top three universities come from the US: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University and Harvard University. The highest ranking European university is the University of Oxford (4th. place overall).
