AGH UST in rankings

  • Ranking of Universities “Perspektywy 2017”

In the most prestigious Ranking of Polish Universities “Perspektywy 2017”, AGH UST came third among technical universities. The evaluation was based on detailed criteria which created six main categories, among which there were: prestige, scientific potential, research efficiency, innovativeness, studying conditions, and internationalisation. AGH UST was awarded in the category of "employers’ preferences", taking 1st place in the province Małopolska and 5th among all universities. In the category "research efficiency" our university was ranked the 1st place among technical universities and 3rd among all universities. In addition, four our faculties are placed in the top ten IT fields of study: Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering (2nd place), Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications (3rd place), Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science (5th place), Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection (7th place). Another important and prestigious ranking is the “Forge of Chairmen”, in which AGH UST took the second place in Poland. Surveys confirm that among almost 500 chairmen of the largest companies operating in Poland, 6.42% are AGH UST graduates. It is worth mentioning that our university has been placed among the leaders of the ranking for the ninth time in a row. (December 2016)

 

The Perspektywy Education Foundation has for the first time published the Ranking of Engineering Studies 2017, which evaluated 21 most popular disciplines of technical courses. According to the jury, the AGH University of Science and Technology has the best engineering study programmes in Poland at the fields of study of Technical Physics, Materials Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.  (May 2017)

A wonderful success of the university is also the first place among Polish technical universities in the ranking “Webometrics”, which encompasses 12,000 schools of higher education from all over the world. In the prestigious circle of 500 schools of higher education whose activity is the most noticeable on the Internet, there were only three Polish universities. (August 2016)

The AGH University of Science and Technology won the 1st place among Polish technical universities in the latest edition of the “University Ranking by Academic Performance”.

On March, 2016, the European Patent Office published a report presenting information regarding patent applications in Europe in 2015. In the report, which encompasses Polish companies and scientific research units, the AGH University of Science and Technology is the second largest applicant from Poland. (February 2016)

 

In the international ranking BRICS & Emerging Economies 2017 the AGH University of Science and Technology was ranked number 167. It is an improvement of more than 20 positions compared to the last year results. AGH UST also came second among Polish technical universities. (December 2016)

 

On the Best Global Universities ranking list published by the US News & World Report AGH UST is rated the second best university among the top technical universities in Poland, thus reinforcing its strong position. (November 2016)

 

AGH UST has been ranked second among Polish technical universities in the overall ranking of the “Quacquarelli Symonds – Emerging Europe and Central Asia 2016 Ranking”. “QS” is one of four most widely recognized global education rankings (alongside “Times Higher Education”, “Shanghai” and “U-Multirank” rankings). The list includes universities and colleges from countries classified as the so called “emerging markets”. (June 2016)

 

The AGH University of Science and Technology took first place among Polish technical universities in the international CWTS Leiden Ranking, which examines the scientific strength of a university on the basis of scientific publications and their impact on the development of world’s science and research.  (May 2017)

 

The AGH University of Science and Technology, with over 28 thousand citations, took third place among Polish technical universities in the international ranking of universities according to the number of citations – Transparent Ranking. (January 2017)

 

The Quacquarelli Symmonds World University Rankings (QS) published a ranking by subject, which assessed nearly 4,500 universities. (March 2017)

The AGH University of Science and Technology for the first time has entered the ranking of the National Taiwan University and was highly rated in the fields “material science” and “mechanical engineering”. (October 2016)

    

In the prestigious ranking Nature Index 2016 Rising Stars, the AGH University of Science and Technology, as the only Polish technical university, was rated among the top 25 scientific research centres in Southern and Eastern Europe. (August 2016)
