Long and rich tradition is also a factor determining the University's popularity - AGH UST has existed for 90 years and during this time it has educated groups of the most required engineers in Poland.

Our University has also other assets: a perfect location in the most beautiful Polish city of Krakow, its own university campus, providing an opportunity to accommodate over 9000 students near the University's lecture buildings and research premises, a modern teaching and research base housing a modern teaching and research equipment, lively and developing international and domestic collaboration with other universities, many facilities for people with disabilities , as well as unforgettable atmosphere for studying.

The structure of AGH University of Science and Technology encompasses the following administrative units:

 

  • faculties, which are the University's basic organisational units
  • inter-faculty units
  • other units connected with the university activities.

At 15 faculties, and also at the Multidisciplinary School of Engineering in Biomedicine there are over 36000 full-time and part-time students, and over half a thousand of doctoral students. Students can gain qualifications in 50 branches of studies and over 200 specializations. The diversity of branches of science is also worth mentioning. The University also runs:

 

  • doctoral studies (over 750 doctoral students at 11 faculties),
  • postgraduate studies (over 2600 students).

The team of our University are over 2000 research workers, including nearly 500 independent researchers and scientists.

Over 100 international research projects are currently being run. AGH UST is also involved in educational projects. We have over 370 agreements of direct collaboration with partners in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Every year there are  over 2000 trips abroad. In Poland, we have signed over 100 agreements with research and scientific units, and nearly 250 agreements with industrial plants, including large international corporations. The objective of these agreements is scientific, research and educational collaboration.

University graduates can manage very well on today's labour market. Many students begin their work while still at the university. AGH UST has educated nearly 150 thousand engineers and Masters of Science, thus supplying qualified staff to the country's economy. Education which can be gained at our University is widely appreciated by employers both in Poland and other countries. Sparkling professional careers of many AGH UST graduates, often employed at various - including the highest - positions in industrial plants are an easy to follow, practical proof of real quality and usability of knowledge they gained at the University.
