A student does not live by studies alone - especially at the AGH University of Science and Technology and particularly in Cracow. The intellectual development is accompanied by cultural enrichment and sports achievements. Numerous organisations working at AGH-UST enable students to pursue interests they already have and discover new ones. The range of possibilities is extensive from artistic groups (an excellent example of which is the AGH-UST student Representational Orchestra) to conventional recreational activities (trekking, cycling) to specialist or extreme sports (climbing, underwater diving, speleological and sailing clubs). Further information on each of the AGH-UST organisations can be accessed on the following website: www.agh.edu.pl/studenci/organizacje.php.
All AGH-UST students are represented by the University Board of Student Council , dealing not only with social and accommodation problems, but also organising cultural and sporting events, departmental excursions, balls, meetings to celebrate the Miner's or Metallurgist's Day, and - probably the most popular with students - Cracow Juvenalia.
Moreover, students can pursue interests relating to their faculty by participating in the activities of almost 90 Special Interest Groups with more and more interesting profiles:
