AGH UST hosted Polish-Chinese workshop


On 31 March, 2017, the Faculty of Energy and Fuels hosted the first Polish-Chinese workshop on Advanced materials for energy-related applications, dedicated to the subjects of developing new, functional materials for application in power engineering and power industry.   

The organiser of the event, participated in by 30 Polish researchers and doctoral students as well as 6 scientists and doctoral students from China, was professor Konrad Świerczek, Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Energy and Fuels. Within the framework of the workshop there were two sessions with nineteen lectures in total. The presentations were given by some internationally-recognised scientists, for example:   

  • professor Hailei Zhao, University of Science and Technology Beijing (lecture: High performance anode materials for lithium ion batteries and solid oxide fuel cells);  
  • professor Janina Molenda, Faculty of Energy and Fuels (lecture: Electronic structure engineering in the development of materials for Li-ion and Na-ion batteries);  
  • professor Aleksander Gil, Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics (lecture: Fireside corrosion and water vapour oxidation of Sanicro 25 steel);  
  • professor Paweł Pasierb, Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics (lecture: Modification of grain boundary properties in BaCeO3-based composite protonic conductors);  
  • Zhihong Du, DSc, University of Science and Technology Beijing (lecture: High-performance anode material Sr2FeMo0.65Ni0.35O6-δ with in situ exsolved nanoparticle catalyst); 
  • Anita Trenczek-Zając, DSc, Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics (lecture: Modified TiO2 photoanodes for photoelectrochemical cells). 


Due to a great interest, it has been decided that the event will be organised regularly. The next workshop with the participation of AGH UST scientists will take place in Beijing.
